Dinting, glossop

Crazy paved York stone that in places had subsided, wrapped around the front and side of the property. The back garden required a new floor plan to tie the house into the garden and its existing borders again, since the extension of the kitchen. The original materials and floor plan no longer complimented the property or the lush mixed, romantic borders. The drive, paved with yellow and pink concrete pavers, required a new privacy screen to one side to replace the dated trellis consumed by ivy and the paving needed updating and refining, in keeping with the new paving and design elsewhere.

The new design helps link the property into the garden effortlessly with the simplest of lines guiding you through the space. The materials have a timeless appeal, whilst acknowledging the Italianate effect of the planting in the gardens.

During the build we discovered a new way to use some decorative aggregates to great effect, both visually and orally whilst marrying a particular wish of the client for a specific visual within the new loose surface, with specific sound and textural criteria from us. We hope this result can be used again in future projects. the planting will get underway in early spring.
